  • CCAMS Forecast Discussion:

Behind the front, generally dry conditions and temperatures fairly typical of late November will settle in on Tuesday

A low pressure will develop off the Southeast coast and move northeastward along the stalled front off the eastern seaboard. Precipitation will develop and expand across much of the Northeast by early morning Wednesday. Marginal cold air will limit the heaviest snow accumulations across inland locations along the foothills of the Appalachians. Most areas east of there will face slushy accumulations of less than three inches in addition to some rain. Here in the Finger Lakes, we will escape most of the storm system. However, some light snow is possible Wednesday afternoon. A coating to possibly a few inches of snow are possible in some areas, particularly as one moves closer to Binghamton, NY. The storm will quickly move toward the Canadian Maritimes by Thanksgiving.

Lake effect snow showers are possible on Thanksgiving with temperatures hovering in the middle 30s. Little to no accumulation is likely here in the Ithaca area. Quiet weather is likely into the weekend with colder temperatures and partly cloudy skies.
