CCAMS Last General Body Meeting of the Semester

Welcome Everyone!

Ithacation is our newsletter for our department. It is distributed to all alumni, current students, and faculty in EAS. It has finally been printed! Please pick up
copies in Bradfield Hall; it is also located on the website.

Our annual snowfall contest has ended and was successful. 50% of the proceeds will go to the winner and the other 50% of the proceeds will go to Loaves and Fishes (the Ithaca Soup Kitchen). We raised $50!

We will have an Internship Seminar on Tuesday December 9, 2014 at 12:30pm in the Bradfield classroom. Please check out our upcoming job board via the Bradfield classroom and website.

2015 Weather Model calendars are available for purchase at a discounted rate of $5.

We will now discuss the AMS 95th Annual Meeting which will be held in Phoenix, Arizona from January 4-8, 2015. There are chances to network, meet other students, and attend lectures and presentations. Our Alumni dinner is tentatively set for the night before the banquet. Please fill out the Google Doc with your flight information.

Zack and Gaige – Presidents

Please send us suggestions about events for the spring semester.

Carolina B – Website Chair

I am currently in the process of updating the internship page and would like more people to email me a blurb about their summer internships. I am updating the website in general. I am looking into adding a weather safety tab. I want to make weather safety videos to raise awareness and educate the Cornell Community. We would like to have professors include weather safety advertisements in their lecture slides.

Professor Wysocki – We are looking for students to take over the production of the Ithaca Weather Calendar. Please email him or the presidents for more information about this.

Aaron Match – Education and Outreach Chair

We are planning a trip to the Dewitt Middle school to do a weather-related presentation/demonstration. If you have any science lessons begin to think about those over break so that we can plan a trip to a school to give demonstrations. We will be planning an Expand your Horizons event in the spring with some middle schools.
