The CCAMS is very active in the Cornell and Ithaca community. Some of the community outreach activites that the CCAMS has been involved with include:

  • Cornell Weatherphone
    - Provides free, localized, updated weather information for Ithaca, NY
  • Relay For Life
    - New in 2005, CCAMS is working with other groups on the Cornell campus to raise money to fight Cancer
  • Ithacation
    - A free, monthly weather newsletter
  • Slope Day Contest
    - A yearly contest held in the spring to predict the weather on the last day of classes - all proceeds go to local charities
  • Sciencenter
    - In past years, students have volunteered at the Sciencenter, a hands-on science museum in Ithaca, NY
  • Safety Fair
    - Students have constructed posters and made presentations for the Ithaca Safety Fair. The CCAMS has been pro-active in teaching weather safety in the Ithaca community.
